Just over a week before the Opening night on Broadway, the cast of Once on This Island performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Of course we watched it on tv back home in Cleveland. Here is video courtesy of Broadway TV archive and Youtube.
We arrived in NYC for the Opening weekend. One of the first things we did after visiting the theater was to go pick up our Opening Night tickets from Lead Producer, Ken Davenport’s office. Along with the tickets they gave us a framed Opening Night Playbill and with a picture of Alex, Hailey and other cast members on set engraved with the date.
December 3, 2017 was the official Opening night. But we had tickets to see it twice that day, for the matinee performance earlier in the day and the official Opening performance in the evening. This matinee would be the first time Ryan and I would experience the Revival of Once on This Island on Broadway. Here are some clips from Broadway.com of what we saw.
